NANAIMO – BC’s Premier stopped in Nanaimo today, bringing with her the good news many people have been waiting for. Christy Clark announced that the Province will invest 7.5 million dollars to improve the E&N Railway and restore passenger service. The E&N bud car has been sitting idle since March because the line is not safe enough for passengers. The Island Corridor Foundation says the funding puts the improvement project on track, but it needs more help from the federal government before the train is rolling again.
